Emotions are like water
Emotions are like water đź’¦
Always moving, changing, fluctuating just like thoughts…that’s all anything is really … FLOW
Sometimes we latch on and get stuck and that’s what you need to check when you feel like muck
Some people don’t know how to feel; it is easier to stay busy and distract and avoid which is how trauma gets formed. Incomplete emotions.
Feelings will stimulate thoughts and thoughts will evoke emotions and a pattern / a cycle will form
WHATS IMPORTANT TO KNOW IS THAT THE ACTUAL FEELINGS HAPPENS FOR SECONDS BUT THE MIND WILL LOOP YOU IN THE MENTAL RESIDUE
This is why embodiment is an important practice. To feel in the body; to direct our mind to notice the sensations and spaces the feelings are being felt. Presence
Instead of following the mind into the story that will loop you into the creation of that feeling; direct your mind to feel inside the body and breathe softness into the sensation.
I find this most practical after I have prayed, journaled, moved or expressed in some way shape or form.
You can turn your mind into your body sitting still or standing in place by closing your eyes and asking where do I feel what inside
When you locate the spot you hold the intention to move and dislodge; focus in the space and breathe and move and shake - do it until it gives or come back to it and repeat several times to help you let go and move on.
Feelings are visitors and turbulence in the superficial layers of the vastness of your being and when you learn to feel to heal, you access the space of peace, love, presence and trust
This is how I help my private clients move beyond fear and retrain their brain from past traumatic experiences.
It is important to keep these exercises fun - otherwise it just becomes more pressure and takes away from the essence of experiencing the state of being comfortable in one’s own skin, with one’s own thoughts and feelings and body.
